"Don't matter if you're Bill Gates or Mozart, there's always a 5 year old Asian better than you" Of all the languages he coulda spoke, he chose to speak facts.
1:41 This actually hits very close to home. My mom still to this day often compares me to my cousins on how they are much better than me, and telling me to be like them and learn from them.
"don't matter if you're bill Gates or mozart, there's always a 5 year old Asian better than you" he spoke the most facts in the world it got him to level 100 fax no sweat
@Steven He , because to all our parents we are failures and there's someone's child who is doing better than us. Especially if they are younger. I'm African but I relate so much to the parenting style. Asian and African parents have the exact same parenting style.
Lol, this skit really made me laugh and cry at the same time! I’m from the Philippines, by the way. You make me laugh so much Steven 👽. It’s literally like 2:00 AM here in my place right now…
@Jonathan Joestar I feel your pain my mom does it, and then when your parents asked why you let them go in front, when they was only gone for 1 minute(which in fact was like over 10 minutes long.) they get mad lol.
The grocery one was more my Mom walking back and forth scolding me, and telling me I'm the reason she's going back and forth... Way worse than telling me to get it myself, because that'd be a quick trip... Comparing me to other people wasn't their thing, since they always tried to make it like I was the best, and I had to be the best, or else I was a failure. I surprisingly never did the laundry thing, because I was taught to be tidy. Bro Steven He is so accurate with these.
Damn, I thought my Asian wife was just really bad about forgetting stuff when we go shopping - it got to the point where I tell her to wait instead and I'll go get it because she NEVER returns BEFORE I have to pay.
One time my mom “accidentally” left me in the grocery check out cue. I ended up having to pay for it all cause she didnt make it back and i didnt want to hold up the line. I was like 12 very traumatizing
I'm not even asian but I'm beginning to think my mom tried a social experiment to make me have asian qualities. Unfortunately it didn't work but I relate to most of these things even though I'm Mexican
This isn’t just Asian parents - I remember this agony too. My mother also used to ask me to go and stand in parking spaces too, until she could get there with the car. Loved being screamed at by irate car drivers who wanted me to get out of the way so they could park. I still come over all clammy just thinking about it.
Ah yes the shopping line trick. I have fallen victim to this a few times all on purpose. The psychological damage is real and should not be taken lightly
I was seeing so many memes with the "emotional damage" clip that I just had to find out who you are, and so I have, and I'm really loving your stuff and spreading the word. Hello from Cape Town, South Africa!
The grocery one is so relatable. My mom still does that until now so I instead offer to get the item she missed rather than wait with anxiety in the cashier.
0:24 This scene is so relatable, my mom finishes her shopping then says "I'm going to check out some shoes." and then leaves me behind while I wait in agonizing fear that someone will potentially ask me, "Why are you holding up the line?" *I feel like they find it so amusing too...*
0:29 Actually, I feel like the more items we have, the more secure I am. At least then the cashier will have to spend more time scanning. It will be hella terrifying when we get to that point, but it's better than having just one item when we do.
1:48 "How come you get only 99% in Math?" This is what exactly what I was scolded by my parent when I was studying in Hong Kong. I am fortunate enough that my cousins are no better than me so the humiliation is halfed.
I really enjoy his videos💖😊, just got me out of the rut, this is love, bringing laughter to people's life's. Thank you so much, stay blessed, now and always🙏👍
As a person with parents who have implemented the famous technique of leaving me in the queue, I found a way to dodge it by just allowing the person behind me to go when the space empties up. I know that some five year old Asian probably invented this ages ago but I just wanted to point it out.
That "your mother leaving you in the supermarket line " always gets me. As an asian I can really relate how terrified I used to feel when my mom used to do that.
@Franchesca Mayí Almonte this isn't a contest this is us remembering the damn trauma our mother's have given to us as a kid but yeah your mom is on a whole nother level.
Hahaha my latina mom would call your moms noobs. She made get down from the car before she could Park it so I can start the line in the bank, then pass just infornt of me and tell me "I'm gonna be back, rightnow!", do the grocery shopping and then come to the line...
Lol when I was little my mum had me so well trained… she would say “come here so I can hit you”, and I obeyed. I also knew that if I misbehaved out in public, she would not hesitate to put me in my place, her logic “if you’re willing to misbehave and embarrass both of us out in public, then I will respond in kind”. She would be fair though, although it could also be a trap; she’d ask me a question to something she already knew the answer to, and it was to see if I would lie or own up to the truth. I swore only one time at my mum, and that’s all it took. She grabbed me by the jaw so fast, and pinned me to the wall (rather hard too, and she’s on the smaller side). Needless to say, I’ve never sworn at her again, and never will. British mums can be so brutal as heck with no hesitation.
Dude, even though every character you play obviously looks exactly like you, they still seem like completely different people. It’s amazing and terrifying.
A: average B: butcher knife C: chainsaw D: don’t come home E: execution F: find new family Hope you enjoyed these tips, remember Asian parents, B is for butcher knife.
lol the comparison one is sooo true. Imagine you got your maths result back and got a full score 100/100. Then you got home so excited to tell your parents then they say "ONLY A HUNDRED??? YOUR COUSIN GOT 110.. you're a failure"
What's really interesting about steven's comments section is that you don't even need to put in any kind of effort to get a heart
FAILURE!
yessss
Steven He loves all of his failures equally.
Sp true
Point proven!
"Don't matter if you're Bill Gates or Mozart, there's always a 5 year old Asian better than you"
Of all the languages he coulda spoke, he chose to speak facts.
fact
You're verified now wtf
yes..I agree!!!
Found you!
"Failure management" is now what I call disciplining children thank you for that
We can all agree that leaving your child to stand in line at the grocery store should be illegal.
You make me laugh - and laughter is medicine for the soul - thank you
1:41 This actually hits very close to home. My mom still to this day often compares me to my cousins on how they are much better than me, and telling me to be like them and learn from them.
Im egyptian replace cousin wit uncle
sammeee
"Your cousin grills better than you, and she's vegan." I died.
Vegans still grill veggies and others things!
He said her name, either Gui Ling or Gui Lin.
So if you died, you musta resurrected to post this. And if that is the case, you wouldn't have cared about a KRclip video.
@devin g mm I luv gui ling gao
*桂林 gui Lin
i love how he just refers to the child as “failure” 💀
"don't matter if you're bill Gates or mozart, there's always a 5 year old Asian better than you"
he spoke the most facts in the world it got him to level 100 fax no sweat
The comparison part hits very hard 😂😂😂 I've already graduated and working, but the Asian mom still has a lot of things to compare and complain about.
Steven's dad: Wasn't so hard, was it? *walks out*
silence
Steven's dad: By the way that's wrong.
I love how now he just says “ your failure” instead of “child” just beautiful
Holy shit. I was curious why kept saying your failure... damn. I failed

@Steven He , because to all our parents we are failures and there's someone's child who is doing better than us. Especially if they are younger.
I'm African but I relate so much to the parenting style. Asian and African parents have the exact same parenting style.
HAHA
I'm 33 and still feel the anxiety of being left alone in the shopping line when I was a kid 🤣
That supermarket thing was so relatable, thank you for making this Loved it
Lol, this skit really made me laugh and cry at the same time! I’m from the Philippines, by the way. You make me laugh so much Steven 👽. It’s literally like 2:00 AM here in my place right now…
Thanks for always making my day full of laughter 💕
"As he gets closer and closer, he will feel paralyzing fear and anxiety"
*traumatic flashbacks ensue*
If I ever need a professional Asian I know where to go
Felt this hahah
@Abe Changsta it makes no sense when they get mad :(
@Jonathan Joestar I feel your pain my mom does it, and then when your parents asked why you let them go in front, when they was only gone for 1 minute(which in fact was like over 10 minutes long.) they get mad lol.
@RexBusterPlayz I am not going to make the person behind me wait longer than they need to because my dad decided to not be present!
This man literally turned his childhood traumas into a monetized career xD
The grocery one was more my Mom walking back and forth scolding me, and telling me I'm the reason she's going back and forth... I don't know what I love more... the skits or the bloopers 😂 so glad I found this channel!!
Damn, I thought my Asian wife was just really bad about forgetting stuff when we go shopping - it got to the point where I tell her to wait instead and I'll go get it because she NEVER returns BEFORE I have to pay.
Uncle Roger and Steven He will create the most powerful asians in the multiverse.

@Steven He 666 likes..
After the big collab this comment is super big fact
True
Hey that happened
Bro you got me cracking up i haven't laughed that hard in a long time
I lauged so hard at the supermarket queue, my dad does this many times. And it does do psychological damage
every time at the ending or any part i start laughing so hard i start choking💀
0:32 I feel like you just unlocked a memory that my brain has kept locked in secret, like I'm at home but for some reason I feel very anxious
fun fact: it’s physically impossible to not read “failure” without steven dad’s voice
What a not disturbing thought.
@Steven He or EMOTIONAL DAMAGE
Holy s**t dude .. you're right XD
@Steven He Actually I randomly start talking in that accent, even with adults and I'm still 13
Definitely ... I did that to my mom the other day she was like "why are you trying to sound Asian????"🤣🤣🤣🤣
One time my mom “accidentally” left me in the grocery check out cue. I ended up having to pay for it all cause she didnt make it back and i didnt want to hold up the line. I was like 12 very traumatizing
1:40 that was unexpected 😂
@Hopeless wrong
he made it so funny that i forgot that this is all child abuse, thats how you know that he is a pro.
Love this..especially when you laugh at yourself!!
"Pro tip: the more items he has, the more embarrassing."
My mom does this to me all the time and this is facts.
I'm not even asian but I'm beginning to think my mom tried a social experiment to make me have asian qualities. Unfortunately it didn't work but I relate to most of these things even though I'm Mexican

@LifeOnTheLedgerLines Our parents has join the cult of super market queue
@ZA WARUDO so you have the mentality and way of thinking like Dio eh? Lol
My mom does this too but I usually let the person behind me go in front if I’m nearing the counter already
I love how he envolves stevens math marks in every one of these videos

Ah yes, good asian parenting, the more emotionally scarring the better xD
I love how all of this, happens to me. Like no joke, these are all very true being an asian kid.
I like the way you put so much into this videos you really know how to torture your failure
It's funny how I can relate with almost all Steven's videos about parents even though I'm Brazillian
0:24 This scene is so relatable, my mom finishes her shopping then says "I'm going to check out some shoes." and then leaves me behind while I wait in agonizing fear that someone will potentially ask me, "Why are you holding up the line?" *I feel like they find it so amusing too...*
I feel like they do this just so they don't have to actaully wait in the line and can kill some time and come back just in time to pay.
@Fû GF Same, I got a Jamaican Mom
Im not Asian and my mom did that too
same :
Tactical rebellion. Just do the shopping anyway and make the wait at the back of the queue.
Discovered you yesterday and have been addicted since ... Such facts 🤣! Waiting for the Collab with uncle Roger!!
0:29 Actually, I feel like the more items we have, the more secure I am. At least then the cashier will have to spend more time scanning. It will be hella terrifying when we get to that point, but it's better than having just one item when we do.
You and Uncle Roger would be hilarious! Love both your stuff.
This really helped me control my failures (2) thank you so much Steven He.
The best 3 inspirational things Steven’s dad says :

Some of this happened to me when I was young and now I'm not a disappointment I'm something to be proud of so good job you
I'm laughing so hard on how accurate this is. These are just one of the many reasons for my current social anxiety LOL. Good ol public shaming days.
😭
I'm studying financial risk management, and I found this video very helpful.
As an asian I can really relate how terrified I used to feel when my mom used to do that.
lmao this is apparently a trauma that spans across multiple culture gaps, im white and my dad would pull this crap all.the.time..
When my mom still does that and I’m still afraid Bc I’m broke asf
@Lusayo Nyondo lol
@Franchesca Mayí Almonte this isn't a contest this is us remembering the damn trauma our mother's have given to us as a kid but yeah your mom is on a whole nother level.

I have 1st hand experience of the crippling fear and anxiety felt by being left alone in the grocery line. 😂
The shopping queue happens to me every time
you know what I would love to see? A skit where he did like a freaky friday thing with his dad.
5 months later watching this for the first time and I genuinely got ptsd from the supermarket queue thing
Audience: The father is really happy talking about punishments.
Me: He's trying to not laugh.
The last frame in particular demonstrates this
@Steven He Steven: *replied and put a heart on my comment*
Me: *Wayne and Garth mode*
WE'RE NOT WORTHY!
WE'RE NOT WORTHY!
WE'RE NOT WORTHY!
Yo I broke out laughing so much this shoot
Damn... The lesson one Hits me so hard... My mom always doing that to me, Leaving me in the counter.
Dang, you didn’t have to hit in the feels with that first one
He doesn't say your son, he doesn't say your child, he says your failure 😂. Brilliant!!
The first one is too true, it feels like everyone experiences that in their life.
“There will always be a 5 year old Asian better than you”
Told you, you can’t be a better failure than Steven
I want a compilation of Steven saying "failure!"😂😂

My name is next to Steven’s, I have never felt such strong failure and disappointment in my life

After watching all your Asian parent punishments, I say it's confirmed. Hispanic and Asian parents learned at the same school.
I’m dying out of laughter because this stuff happens to me😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I honestly think you should make a “Emotional Damage!” Shirt 😂
“I’m a professional Asian that specializes in failure management”
That’s a quote I’m keeping forever
Is he not saying "I'm a professional Asian "dad" specializing in failure management."?
Lol when I was little my mum had me so well trained… she would say “come here so I can hit you”, and I obeyed. I also knew that if I misbehaved out in public, she would not hesitate to put me in my place, her logic “if you’re willing to misbehave and embarrass both of us out in public, then I will respond in kind”. Sicilian-American Mother's in the 70s damage from being made to stand in line at the store indeed lingers to this day! Thank you Steven!
These tips work! My son now cries every time he sees me!
0:45 i like it when steven says very effective.
Dude, even though every character you play obviously looks exactly like you, they still seem like completely different people. It’s amazing and terrifying.
@Sylvia Dong hahahaha, you missed out the joke. I know it's funny and not really racist. I'm making a joke on his comment.
@Yashas Gupta LOL
That's racist. Those are different Asians. Damn dude.....
The collab i never knew i needed until it was brought up. Uncle Roger and Steven He. YESSSSSSS
Fun fact: I watched this with my mom and she actually liked it.
The "waiting in line" one happens to me all the time... minus the.. crying..

I got secondhand embarrassment from this so hard i legit felt like throwing up
holy hell god I hated that stuff so much.
great acting
A: average
B: butcher knife
C: chainsaw
D: don’t come home
E: execution
F: find new family
Hope you enjoyed these tips, remember Asian parents, B is for butcher knife.
@DARSHAN Singh I think they were talking about the grading system, but oh well:)
@anddero LMFAO
@laila fahria that's more relatable for Indian students. 😂🤣
E- Elimination.
Nice priorities 😆. Who is this, Hermonie Granger?
This is how you make your dark memories replace with laughter
lol the comparison one is sooo true. Imagine you got your maths result back and got a full score 100/100. Then you got home so excited to tell your parents then they say "ONLY A HUNDRED??? YOUR COUSIN GOT 110.. you're a failure"
"that random asian guy was better than you" yeah it destroy me every time.
I’m starting to learn more about these punishments for the next generations to come

‘Xiaoqiang’ or ‘小强‘ (pronounced ‘shao chiang’) literally means cockroach in Chinese
a very effective way to put a smile in my face
My wife is still playing the supermarket trick with me to this day....and we're not even Asian.
